  • PAC Meeting – Program will be on Noise in the City.  Environmental Control will discuss measures that they take regarding noise and Crime Prevention Specialist Nick Juarez will address noisy parties and the efforts to discourage these activities.  The PAC meeting will be on Monday, August 9th at 6:00 p.m. at 1900 Monroe.  Everyone is encouraged to attend.
  • Bike Cops for Kids Fundraiser: Join us for a lightly catered meal, music and fun on the cobblestone patio at Hennepin/Main Street, 25 Main St SE, Minneapolis on August 17 from 5 to 8 pm..  This is a fundraiser and celebration of the award winning project, “Bike Cops for Kids” that connects kids with Minneapolis Police Officers, focusing on making memories for the little ones in our community.  This is co-sponsored by the Peace Foundation, Mayor Rybak, Mike and Ann Ciresi, and Dean and Karen Phillips.  An article about the program is at:  http://www.startribune.com/local/97203349.html .  Also, a flyer about the project is attached.
  • Community Info-Session on Restorative Justice – Thursday, August 19th, 6:00 p.m. at North Commons Community Center, 1801 James Ave N, Minneapolis, MN  55411.  Restorative Justice Community Action (RJCA) gives community members a voice in the justice process.  Using trained facilitators, RJCA brings community members and people who’ve committed offenses in Minneapolis neighborhoods together in small group meetings to decide how to make amends in the community.  All participants have a voice in the process and the out come.  Information about restorative justice is available at:  http://www.rjca-inc.org/
  • Block Club Training – Thursday, August 26th at 6:00 p.m. at the 2nd Precinct, 1911 Central Ave NE.  Please call 673-2874 to make reservations.
